What is SEO or Search Engine Optimization ? By: AviD


What is SEO (Search Engine optimization) ?: As you know, SEO is the main part of any popular website. We know very well, Search Engine Optimization (seo) is the process of enhancing visibility of website in search engines. You've finished your website, blog, post or page design, uploading your files, and setting up your web/page/blog, but you're still not getting as many visitors as you hoped for. And.......,What gives.....? Chances are you haven't started working on one of the most important ways to market your website, page or blog, SEO(Search Engine Optimization).

Well, What seo is ?

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) refers to the collection of techniques and practices that allow a website/page/blog to get more traffic from search engines (Google, Bing, Yahoo, Microsoft..etc). SEO can be divided into two main areas: off-page SEO (work that takes place separate from the website) and on-page SEO (website changes to make your website rank better). This tutorial will cover both areas in details! And Remember, a website/blog is not fully optimized for search engines unless it employs both on and off-page SEO.




And, What seo is not ?

SEO is not purchasing the number #1 sponsored link through Google Adwords and proclaiming that you have a #1 ranking on Google, Bing, yahoo..etc. Purchasing paid placements on search engines is a type of SEM(Search Engine Marketing), and is not covered in this SeoTipsPage.com's post.

SEO is not ranking #1 for your company/organization's name. If you're reading and understanding this tutorial, you probably already know that ranking (on search engines) for popular terms is darn near impossible, but for some specific terms, such as a company name, is a freebie. The search engines(like Google, Bing, yahoo..etc) usually are smart enough to award you that rank by default (unless you are being penalized).

Actually, Who uses seo ?

If a website is currently ranked #10 on Google for the search phrase(keywords), "Live Project Training in Lucknow, SEO Services in Lucknow or Live Website Development in Lucknow," but webmaster wants to rise (their ranking on search engine) to #1, this websites needs to consider SEO for top ranking. Because search engines(google, yahoo, bing..etc) have become more and more popular on the web, nearly if someone trying to get seen on the web can benefit from a little search engine optimization loving.

On-Page SEO (Search Engine Optimization) Tips for beginners



Search Engine Optimization or SEO can be mainly divided in to two parts:

On-page Optimization is totally running on the website or blog. This article gives you basic       things about On-Page optimization.

Off-Page Optimization is totally running out side of the blog or website. Link building can be an example of off-page seo.
This article doesn’t describe advanced On-page Optimization things like keyword density(in your blog/site's article or post). But this article/post describes basic things about On-Page-SEO, For advance tips, you can see later this post On-Page Optimization.


1. Title Tag

Title tag is very important for on-Page Optimization (or On-Page SEO). Always try to include all of your target keywords in to the title of your article or post. But don’t include more than 65 letters in it.

2. Meta Tags

Mainly meta description and meta keywords are useful for On-page Optimization (on page seo). But most of search engines(like google,bing yahoo...etc) don’t care much meta keywords. But still search engines(Mainly google, bing and yahoo) use meta descriptions. So include all of your target keywords(post/article keywords) in to the meta description.

3. Heading

It is good to have title (title tag) and heading to be same. And also use H1(Only one time) tag for your main heading and use H2 tag for sub headings.

4. Number of words

You may write at least 300+ words in your article to get search engine attention. But it is better,  if you  write 550-1000 words in your article.

5. Images

Try to include at least one image to your article with alt attribute. And also add your target keywords(main keywords) to image alt attribute.

6. URL structure

URL structure is also important for SEO(Search Engine Optimization). So include all of your target keywords in to the URL.


7. Bold

Bold the target keywords in your post/article . It may be a little benefit for SEO.

8. First paragraph

First paragraph is also important for On-Page Optimization(On Page SEO). Include all of your target keywords to the first paragraph. But it's  better to include all of your target keywords in to the first sentence.

9. Avoid duplicate contents

Search engine punish duplicate contents. So always try to publish unique, original, or  fresh things.

10. Sitemap

Sitemaps inform to the search engines that your site is available for crawling. If your Blog onWordPress, Then use some plugins (available in wordpress) to generate sitemap. If not use http://www.xml-sitemaps.com to generate sitemap.
